About Butterfly Sheets
We thought sharing a bed shouldn’t mean losing your covers—or your space.
If you share a bed, you may know the feeling.
You go to sleep with your covers and your side of the bed. Then you wake up with less of both.
Maybe your partner wrapped up in the sheets. Maybe they moved over to your side. Maybe it was both.
That’s why we made Butterfly Sheets.
Our patent-pending design uses a wider flat sheet to give each person more covers. The flat sheet connects to the fitted sheet down the center of the bed. The top and bottom stay open, while the middle stays connected.
This gives each person their own side of the flat sheet through the middle of the bed, while still letting you cuddle at the top and move or tuck your feet at the bottom.
How It Started
The idea for Butterfly Sheets came in the middle of the night while I was recovering from surgery.
I got up to use the bathroom, and when I came back, my husband had rolled himself into a full-on cocoon of sheets.
There I was—sore, tired, and trying to get back into bed—with barely any covers and hardly any space left on my side.
And I lost it.
“You steal the covers every night! You take up too much of the bed. I’m always freezing, about to fall off the edge, or waking you up just so I can get my covers back!”
I remember thinking, there has to be a better way to share a bed.
The next morning, I started sketching.
I was sure someone had already made sheets that worked the way I imagined.
I couldn’t find them.
That middle-of-the-night frustration became the idea for Butterfly Sheets: a sheet designed to give each person their own side of the sheet, while still letting you share the bed.
And that’s how Butterfly Sheets began.
A Different Way to Share a Bed
Butterfly Sheets are not two separate sheet sets.
The flat sheet is wider, giving each person more sheet to use.
The top stays open so you can cuddle and get close.
The middle stays connected so each person has their own side of the sheet while sleeping.
The bottom stays open so each person can move their feet and choose whether to tuck or untuck their side.
The center connection also helps keep the flat sheet centered instead of letting the whole sheet move back and forth as one loose piece.
And because the flat sheet stays connected to the fitted sheet, making the bed is easier too.
